Your chance to catch a roaring good theatre show has just been boosted, with Disney’s ‘The Lion King’ about to land in Theatre 11 Zurich from November 23 and an extended run until March 2024 just announced.

Everyone knows the heart-warming and dramatic story of lion cub Simba’s eventful journey to become king, but there’s nothing quite like seeing it brought to life on stage by over 50 actors, singers and dancers, plus various incredible costumes, masks and puppets. All your fave characters will be present to help Simba along his way, including Rafiki, Timon and Pumbaa, as well as mega-evil and mildly terrifying Uncle Scar doing his villainous thing throughout.

Musically, there’s a huge amount to look forward to, with the much-loved original soundtrack having been extended by South African composer Lebo M. Classics including ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight’ and ‘Shadowland’ will also be there to soothe your ears.

And while the kids will love it, don’t think that this is ‘just’ a children’s production. ‘The Lion King’ is not only the biggest-ever grossing show in New York Broadway history, it’s also one of the most successful musicals in the world, meaning it appeals to any generation – because who doesn’t love a big-hearted odyssey about a lion on an epic adventure?
