We’re currently into King the Land, the popular K-drama that portrays the fun and romantic relationship between hotelier Cheon Sa-rang (played by Im Yoon-ah) and chaebol heir Goo Won (played by Lee Jun-ho). Fueling our obsession even more is the fact that the series dedicated its entire Episode 10 to Bangkok!

In the story, the main characters fly to the Thai capital to unwind and relax after a few hectic weeks at work. You can see them visiting some of Bangkok’s most popular attractions and some lesser-known spots, which are all portrayed beautifully. Here’s a rundown of where the episode was filmed.

Hotels

The characters stay at Siri Sala, a private villa along Bangkok Noi Canal, a sub-riverway that branches out from Chao Phraya River. The newly opened Siri Sala boasts three comfy bedrooms, all of which are decorated with familiar Thai ornaments and colorful art. The villa, which comes with an efficient staff and in-house chefs, costs around B100,000 a night.

Restaurants and markets

The characters kick off their culinary journey in Thailand at popular Vietnamese noodles spot Khun Daeng on Phra Athit Road (their soup noodles are really, really good). From there, they move on to Ong Ang Market to sample some street food. (Fact: There are street vendors around Ong Ang on weekends but not as many as you see in the series.)

There are two hotel establishments featured in the drama: Sala Rim Naam at Mandarin Oriental where Sa-rang and Goo Won indulge in royal Thai cuisine, and rooftop bar Vertigo at Banyan Tree Bangkok.
