Spice Market (closed)

This pan-Asian food tour disguised as a buffet is a great starter spot for those unfamiliar with the flavours of Southeast Asia (ie tourists and newcomers). We love it for its massive display of comfy Asian foods, as well as some Western fare to please the out-of-towners. Meal for two: around $700.

  • I hadn't been back to Craftsteak since they first opened (and served me a pork chop still frozen in the center), but a group of friends were going, so I thought I'd give it another chance. I ordered the mackerel, but was told that they didn't have any so I changed my order to lamb chops. Another person in our group also ordered lamb chops. Two minutes later, the server returned and told us that not only were they out of mackerel, they only had one order of lamb chops left. As it was only 8pm and we were the first turn, I was surprised they had already run out of food. The server then admitted that they had the items, but were SAVING IT FOR THE REGULARS!!! So unless you're already a regular patron, expect to be treated second class. At this rate, I hope they have enough regulars to sustain their business cuz they're not making any new friends. As usual, the food was undercooked and half the table sent the food back to be re-cooked. Service was very slow, but given the full capacity, I can understand. Servers' attitudes were generally very good.
