Eat this… OBE beef
Got beef? Well, OBE does and it’s pretty good stuff. Now available in Hong Kong, the meat traces back to one of Australia’s largest and most established cultivators of certified organic beef. The cattle are born and reared in the Australian Outback where an all-natural grass and herb diet, and a sprawling seven million hectare roaming ground, produce some of the healthiest cattle around. All products from the company are USDA certified organic, meaning they’re safe from hormones, antibiotics, herbicides and other synthetic chemicals.
Aside from all these good-for-you properties, OBE beef boasts a deliciously rich and meaty flavour. Compared to grain-fed beef, the free-range and pasture-fed cattle produce steaks that are relatively lean and best prepped in quick-heat cooking methods like grilling. The meat doesn’t need much work – try the sirloin, rib eye or tenderloin lightly seasoned and seared to medium rare on a barbecue grill, or slice the beef and use it in simple stir-fries. OBE also produces a range of meatballs studded with organic onions. A wide range of OBE’s premium meats are available at ParknShop and Great Food Hall but for those who don’t have the time to shop around, recipe delivery service Secret Ingredient is offering a special DIY dinner from June 18 to 30 featuring OBE’s rib eye steaks. All the fresh ingredients will be bought, weighed out, cut, sliced and diced, then delivered right to your doorstep complete with step-by-step cooking instructions for a meal for two. If that still sounds like too much work, OBE’s organic cuts are also being served at select restaurants across town such as The Verandah, Spices, Posto Pubblico and all Dragon King outlets, including Dragon Seal at the ICC.
