Time Out says

Kennedy Town’s Davis Street (or ‘little LKF’ as the K-Town crew call it) continues to be the Western district’s coolest little enclave with this hole-in-the-wall pizzeria opened by the guys behind Cépage and Singapore’s Les Amis. Sandwiched next to The Pier bar, Piccolo seats around 30 in a tight narrow space with a high ceiling and an open kitchen at the rear (the dinky bar sits dead centre). We visited on a Wednesday night and were welcomed by its happy staff (seriously, they seem to get on famously) while perusing a minimal but mouth-watering menu.

Opting for a typical pizzeria combo of calamari ($85), a basket of chicken wings ($55/6pcs) and an 11-inch Suprema pizza ($130), we really couldn’t complain. A few napkins wouldn’t go amiss, but they do what they do with real aplomb. The crispy golden chicken wings are the best in the West (believe) and the thin-crust pizza was served with gooey cheese, tingling flavours and huge slabs of hot pork sausage. The snug atmosphere also wowed us. It’s chatty, giggly and reassuringly unpretentious (and overwhelming with females on our night). Plus, where else can you find a pizzeria playing Strawberry Letter 23? Nice touch. Corkage is $100. JJ Healy
