This superb rooftop space affords 180-degree views of the harbour and Happy Valley Racetrack. In an unpretentious manner, they’ve stolen a good percentage of sun-lapping, moonlight-seeking patrons from competing skyscraping outlets. It’s also revitalised a chain that many had forgotten as a place to dine, and not just liquor up. Meal for two: around $800. 31/F and rooftop, The Hennessy, 256 Hennessy Rd, Wan Chai, 2893 6960.

Almost famous

They quietly streamlined their menu to add more comfort eats such as truffled mac and cheese. This coupled with one of the best rooftops in Hong Kong makes Sevva a winning combo. 25/F, Prince’s Bldg, Central, 2537 1388.

Le 188 juts out onto the Victoria Harbour and gives you a god’s eye view of Hong Kong. 41/F, Harbour Grand Hong Kong, 23 Oil St, North Point, 2121 2688.
