Freshness Burger

With six outlets in Hong Kong, they are head to head with the other Japanese burger, Mos. But they also have the breakfast and afternoon tea crowd as well, offering breakfast sandwiches and great coffee. Their class burger with thick-cut tomato, raw onion and sweet mayo ($20) pleases some palettes but not all.

What our tasters said: The tomato was stupidly thick cut… tasted more like a tomato sandwich with meat than the other way around.. The meat was way too thin… the sauce had a Peking duck hosin sweetness to it, and not in a good way.

Meat: 5/10
Bun: 6/10
Topping: 5/10
Value: 8/10
Overall:
6/10  They need to rework the architecture of this burger. The portions were all wrong. Generally quality ingredients but they just need to rejig the order of importance.

Citywide; we went to the one at Windsor House, Shop No. 110, 311 Gloucester Rd, Causeway Bay, 3486 2833.

  • The meat in the burger is super juicy. I love it!

  • Freshnes Burger wouldn't score that high on my books. I went there just a week ago and their burgers were soggy. The beef patties were juicy to the point where I wondered if they soaked it in water! not to mention it made my burger all soggy and ended up with the texture of barf. Not to mention it took them 10 minutes to cook the darn thing.
