McDonald’s, The Market Cornerer

Posted:

What can we tell you about McDonald’s that you don't already know? Though Micky D’s mass-produced, frozen patties could never compete with freshly ground pure beef, there is a lot to be said for familiarity. We plumped for the Big N’ Tasty ($17.30), which is a quarter-pound patty on sesame bun with tomato, lettuce, pickles, onion, mayo and ketchup... but then you probably already knew that.

What our tasters said: “The saltiest burger by a mile... Satisfying old faithful...You know it’s totally artificial and filled with unpretty things, but you still can’t resist... Crisp lettuce with sort of healthy-looking tomatoes... There’s something about McD’s that most of us have been conditioned to enjoy – damn them!”

  • The name they trademarked in '82 was mickey, not micky. It was trademarked to give them 'hipness'. Of course no-one calls them this. Except, it seems this wannabe hipster at TimeOut.
