Hong Kong's best take-out burgers
Time Out staff reveal the ten best take-out burgers in town
We love burgers no matter what form they take (well, almost – we draw the line at Disneyland’s char siu abomination), but sometimes there’s no substitute for a classic burger in all its simple, barely adorned glory. And we’re not talking about the kind you get in a bar, steakhouse or other more upmarket establishments. We mean the grease-dripping, paper-wrapped, take-away burger that enlivens your al desko lunch, makes dinner-on-the-run a peculiar pleasure, and places a soothing hand across your alcohol-saturated belly at the end of a night on the razz.
But with so many burger joints popping up around town lately, the agony of choice has never been greater. That’s why we’ve scoured the city, with no regard for our waistlines, complexions or easily stained clothing, to compile this list of Hong Kong’s greatest grab ‘n’ go hamburgers. Our Time Out tasting panel kept it simple, going for the basic burger in each house style, and applying a lifetime of burger eating experience to assess them on the essential qualities of bun, meat, toppings, and value to arrive at the overall score. We ate a lot of burgers. These were our top ten.

Atomic Patty do not make quality burgers, for the prices they charge it really isn't good enough. Shake em buns still has my vote as the best in town.
You can't have a list of the best burgers in Hong Kong without including McSorley's SoHo - simply the best, and they'll make them all with Chicken too, if you wish...
Dan Ryans make, by far and away, the best burger in HK. They have delivery through cuisine courier and it brings the beat down on McSorley's.
Whenever a 'best burger in town' list crops up, MOS burger is always up there. Finally myself and two friends checked it out. Disappointed, does not cover it. - Ingredients were poor, everything was sweet and our pallets were left spinning...Wont be going back!
McDonald's burgers are made from retired circus animals and sawdust. They taste like masking tape that's been passed through the GI tract of a syphilitic hobo. Are you kidding me? Even walking by a location -- the surrounding stagnant air redolent with oily effluvia -- gives me the screaming heebie jeebies. For shame!
The best burger by far is at the RHKYC (Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club) middle island. If you need a good burger you should join or make friends with someone who is a member because its the only really great burger in Hong Kong!:)
If McDonalds appears in the top ten list then there must not be many good burgers in Hong Kong...
Not even a mention of the all American classic "Fat Burger" QRE Wanchai, hard to beat IMHO.
Fatburger is hands down the best burger in town, topped with a fried egg and the best onion rings! Where's the love Time Out?
Sorry, but as an American, I will say there are no good burgers in HK. HK people may think there are, but nope.
Standard Yank... It's gotta be Shake 'em Buns, but honestly, what on earth are McDonald's, Burger King and Mos Burger doing on this list? Shame there isn't an In-n-Out, but there are DEFINITELY some good burgers in HK. Sod off.
"My Opinion": Why do Americans seem to think anyone commenting on burgers in HK have no idea about a good burger? So typical of the American mentality. How do you know we aren't American too and have tasted burgers around the world and in many parts of the USA? Agree with you bryano. Idiots.
Hebe 101 @ Sai Kung has got the Best Burger in Town.
I love Flat Branch and Heidelberg, but I don’t usually go to either of those places for the burger. With Booches, I do. There really isn’t anything special about it, but I can’t go more than a month or so without stopping by for one or three. Nothing fancy, just a quality burger. car dvr gps http://www.espow.com/wholesale-car-electronics-car-dvr.html
As a 100% American who has been living in Hong Kong for 8 years. Archie B's burgers are my personal favorites. Have tried all on the list, and I highly recommend the Atomic Blue Cheese Burger from Archie B's or the mushroom swiss if you do not like sauces. Why in the hell is mcdonalds on the list. Thats ridiculous.
