So many bars, so little time: MO Bar
The vibe
If you are looking for a hotel bar that isn’t a hotel bar, then you’ve come to the right place. Plush velvet and rose wood loungers, soft lighting, and lounge music set the relaxed mood.
The drink
You might not see too many boys ordering the Rose Petal ($95), as it’s a bit like drinking a bottle of perfume, but the fragrant cocktail (made of Absolute Vodka, Bols Lychee liqueur, Monin rose syrup, fresh lychee fruit and lemon juice) is every bit a sniffer as it is a sweet drink to kick off a night of indulgence.
The entertainment
People watching, people watching, and… people watching. They also throw exclusive concerts every few weeks – recent impromptu performances have included Alicia Keys and Wyclef Jean – so be sure to get buddy-buddy with the staff for the inside scoop.
The regulars
Depends on when you go. In the afternoon, it is filled with tai tais and young men with their Apple laptops, sipping on tea and delicately eating afternoon delights. In the early evening, the business crowd arrives for cocktails to mark the end of yet another tiring workday; while come night time, it is packed with glitterati and hotel guests. James Moore
