Think of two people you would love to tour with. If they both asked you to join in but the tours overlapped, which artist would you turn down, and why?
I would love to tour with Sting and/or Sade. Both are amazing artists and I could have ten others on that list. Not sure who would come first… I guess I would have to know more about the tour.
How do you put the funky in house?
I just do my thing and hope that people connect with it. Creating is something I do to satisfy myself, but it is nice that other people can enjoy it too.
If you had to DJ for 48 hours on an island where everyone is roughing it and you’re stuck in the DJ booth, what things would you need?
Water and lots of it – it’s hard to keep hydrated on those long sets. Beyond that I am sure I could keep the party going.
What, to you, are the perks of being a DJ?
I still trip out when I am playing in front of tens of thousands at stadium shows or festivals. Beyond that I have had many a run in with celebrity types, and it seems like they always have strange requests.
Compare San Francisco to Southern California. Why is Frisco better?
Well [though San Francisco-based] I am from Chicago and I never really did understand the whole SoCal/NorCal thing. To me it is all better under the sun of California. The whole West Coast scene is just amazing right now.
