Muscle Snog Fuzz Rabbit

More from the band who are rapidly becoming my favourite Shanghai outfit. This track manages to sound like 1990’s west coast nu-metal and Sonic Youth all at the same time. It shouldn’t work, but it does.
24 Hours Mr Stevenson
maybemars.org/index.php/artists/24-hours
Another band on the Maybe Mars label hailing from Xi’an. The MM Press tells us that the band, who are all art majors, drew all the paintings for their first music video, Mr Stevenson, and they continue to add fresh blood to China’s music scene.
Kung Fu Fighting Carl Douglas Vs Culcha
We’ve been looking for an excuse for some time to feature Carl Douglas’ Kung Fu Fighting on the pod and Soundcloud has provided the perfect one. Entitled QT’s Reggae Suss-Sauer Mash Up, this is a perfect update of an old pop disco classic. It can be downloaded for free from Soundcloud, but we expect you to find it yourself.
Logo Love Hotel

Fusing a bit of Pink Floyd, bossa and some old-school psychedelia, this three-piece outfit have one of the more unique sounds floating around our scene at the moment. This quirky track is taken from the Underground’s recent Compilation CD 3. This fortnight, they’ll be appearing twice at The Wanch: on Thursday 1 for Handover Hallelujah and on Friday 2 as part of their bassist Yanyan’s Girls on the Road series.
The Sleeves Totalitarian Love Song
www.myspace.com/thesleevesofhongkong
The Sleeves have slowly been making a name for themselves, with their self-described ‘arcade rock’. On Saturday 26, they’re playing Bodyrock at The Cavern, where body art, music and audio-visual elements all come together to support the Hong Kong Aids Foundation. This track is also from the Underground Compilation CD 3.
