Inspiring design and artistry

Andaz Macau is an architectural masterpiece that seamlessly blends the city's rich heritage with contemporary design elements. Drawing inspiration from Macau's UNESCO-protected East-West architecture, interior architects EDG Design and art consultancy firm VISTO have meticulously incorporated elements from Portuguese buildings, maritime ships, traditional Chinese culture, and the modern international lifestyle of Macau. As you explore the hotel, you'll be immersed in thoughtful designs and curated art pieces that narrate Macau's past and present. From the stunning ‘Macau Steps’, a multi-sensory staircase showcasing over 100 videos that narrate the stories of Macau’s past and present, to elegant sculptures made with hand-painted Portuguese tile patterns and mannequins dressed in embroidered couture gowns with classic cheongsam collars, every corner tells the story of Macau's fascinating history.

Gastronomic delights

With the theme ‘Discover the Real Macau through Gastronomy’, Andaz Kitchen celebrates the authentic flavours of Macau with an array of food and drink offerings that immerse travellers in the city's rich culinary heritage. Located on the sixth floor, this vibrant all-day dining destination is inspired by Macau's old shophouses, where each room reflects the cuisine on offer. The restaurant also pays homage to Macau’s maritime history with wooden archways, while Portuguese mosaic tiles (azulejos) call on the city’s European heritage.

Executive chef André Lai, rooted in Portuguese and Chinese cuisines, showcases his passion for forging connections through gastronomy with unique dishes that capture the soul of Macau. For a refreshing starter, try the Tuna ceviche with soft-boiled egg, avocado, and pata negra. This dish elevates the sweetness of tuna slices, and the addition of avocado and a soft-boiled egg contributes to its creamy texture. Other must-try dishes include the Portuguese seafood rice with clams, mussels, prawns, and Boston lobster – a classic Portuguese recipe with a luxurious twist; as well as ‘Camarão ao Alhinho’, a dish that nods to Portugal's fishing traditions by presenting sautéed prawns with chilli and garlic in a copper ‘cataplana’, a traditional cookware used by fishermen.
