The rules:
This isn’t called ‘Date our Friends’ for nothing – this project is all about hooking up our 15 bachelor and bachelorettes with our readers. So you’ve checked out some of our mates and you’re thinking, “yeah, they’re all right.” What to do next?
Here’s how it works:
1. Send an email to us at dateourfriends@gmail.com with the following info:
the name of the person you’d like to date in the subject line
in less than 50 words, why you’d be a good match for that person
attach a recent photo of yourself.
2. The closing date is Tuesday February 16
3. After applications close, each of our friends will choose one person to take on a date.
4. We’ll randomly select a date for you, from the generously donated super selection opposite / below.
5. Date, and unbounded love and romance ensue.
The dates will need to take place between February 17 and March 7, so you must be in Hong Kong and available for at least some of this period.
And that’s about it. After the dates, we’ll be getting in touch with all of the couplings for a bit of a casual post-mortem, which we’ll include in our March 17 issue. We’ll also be hosting a happy hour on March 18 for everyone that puts themselves out there and applies to be a potential dater.
Disclaimer: TOHK is in no way responsible for any pain, suffering, awkward situations, law suits, unwanted pregnancies or any other negative aspects that may stem from Date our Friends. However, we are wholly responsible for fun, laughter, good times, wanted pregnancies and any warm and fuzzy feelings of romance that may follow.

this is what time out hk has devolved into? no better than an internet dating site? glad i no longer have a subscription, why would i pay for your friends to go on dates?
Mr Dumb Idea, Are you really that stupid?
I'LL DATE YOU ALL! EVER LAST ONE OF YOU! No, seriously, I would.
hey dumb idea, instead of writing in and chastising the fun looking group of hongkongers who is trying something new in a positive way, why don't you get a real life or, better yet, get a date. it's people like you who makes hk such a tough place to find love
I've only just seen this competition! This is awesome - the type of thing that people should do more of in Hong Kong. Magazines are so stale here!!!!!
Just to say I also think this was a great idea. Just annoyed I was away and didn't read about it until today. Don't do it every month, but twice a year of something would be cool!
dumb idea you're silly! they do this in time out new york too.
