Hong Kong in 2010: Sport & City Events

Posted:

While few new major events have yet been announced for Hong Kong, we can at least look forward to hopefully a repeat of 2009’s excellent Wine & Dine fair (yet to be confirmed), which is probably the best thing the tourism board has achieved in the last five years. As always, Le French May (April 15-June 15) will provide an important cultural injection to follow up on the large scale Arts Festival held in late February and March, and our marquee sports events will again attract the happy masses in the forms of rugby fans (the Sevens) and cricket nuts (Cricket Sixes), while runners will flock to the always challenging and recently invigorated Standard Chartered Marathon. For golf fans, it’ll be interesting to watch November’s Hong Kong Open, to see if organisers can rally a line-up to match 2009’s top-gun effort. And you can expect many more big events to be announced in the coming months, so keep your eyes on this space.
