My Essential Selections: Dustin Kun, Destroyed HK
1. For the freshest 3am dim sum
Despite living on the dark side, I religiously go if I’m hungry on the island between 2.30am and 7am. Make sure you ask for their killer quail egg dumplings.
Sun Hing Sik Ga, 19 Hau Wo St, Kennedy Town, 2816 0616.
2. For Hong Kong’s best DJ school
Hong Kong 2010 DMC champ DJ Soda runs a sound lab and DJ school where people can pop in any time to practice, check the place out or schedule one-on-one lessons.
89 Fuk Wa St, Sham Shui Po, click here for more info.
3. For artsy-fartsy films
Broadway Cinematheque in Yau Ma Tei has a fairly extensive line-up of independent and foreign films.
4. For getting high in the Kowloon hills
Take your pick from Lion Rock, Beacon Hill and my favourite, Monkey Mountain. Beautiful views and sunsets (or sunrises) depending how high (up) you get.
5. For kicking back
You wouldn’t think it, but Fullcup Café in Mong Kok is so good for setting a chilled-out yet stimulating atmosphere. With epic food, a terrace and live music, nothing beats whiling away the time here.
3-7/F, 36 Dundas St, Mong Kok, 2771 7775.
