In the wave of French house and electro DJs that have emerged in the past years, Brodinski stands as techno’s sole son. Andrea Yu finds out how this self-confessed internet junkie copes without Wi-Fi

On his life before DJing…
I was a student in communication. I started DJing at this time and then I finished my studies before becoming what I am.

On the turning point of his career…
I actually had a lot of them. Soulwaxmas in 2007, The BuggedOut! compilation, Bad Runner, My Social Club Residency in Paris and a lot more. Everything from day one was amazing. 

On what sets him apart from his French DJ peers…
I'm the techno one. The people in the Parisian scene are amazing…. it's great to have a good entourage.

On The Krays, [Yuksek and Brodinski]…
We decide to create The Krays when we started to produce different kinds of music for ourselves. Each – other we have a different kind of sound. The Krays is a good way to work together.

On the internet…
The internet is my favorite way to learn, listen, create and discover music. The internet is my bible and I’ll be its number one fan forever!

On how he copes without internet connection…
I will definitely always find one [laughs].

On the popularity of French DJs…
I'm not thinking as a French DJ. We are pretty international now and because of the internet, I know people are listening to my music in Germany, Columbia, USA or Japan. Everywhere, people are interested about music and internet helps us a lot for this too.

On the new DJs he’s watching…
The French guys from Club Cheval are amazing. Gesaffelstein is incredible. I love L-Vis 1990, TWR72, NT89, Distal or Axel Boman – they are the future.

On his best and worst gigs…
I will say Miami with Busy P, Riton and DJ Mehdi…. one of my best ones so far. I don't want to remember the worst one.

On two songs we’ll definitely hear in Hong Kong…
My new track Let The Beat Control Your Body, and certainly the new Gesaffelstein – Control Movement.
