Running from July 22-28, the Hong Kong Book Fair will be held at the Convention and Exhibition Centre, and will highlight both international and local writers. This year marks its 20th anniversary as a centre for cultural exchange, success that could be attributed to the fact Hong Kong is often described as an entryway to the Asian book market. Indeed, last year the Book Fair received visitors from 20 different countries.
In order to connect with readers who are keen on certain genres, the event will be divided into themed zones, which will also represent various fads in the global printing industry. Zones include Books Pavilion, Multimedia Zone, Religious Corner, International Cultural Village, and many more spots where a bookworm can take refuge in; and if you’re accompanied by some young ones, drop them off at the interactive Children’s Paradise, where they can join in discussions about their favourite reads, watch performances, and partake in hobby sessions.
Be sure to come with a lined wallet – aside from selling leisure books and textbooks, the market is also well-stocked with the latest multimedia, including eBooks, Audio-Visual Learning Aids, Educational Software, as well as printing products and stationary.
To top it off, this year’s event is aiming to raise environmental awareness, so keep an eye out for waste recycle bins and be a pal to Mother Earth; bring your own shopping bag. Check out their website, hkbookfair.hktdc.com, for more details about the fair.
