Chippendales

Hong Kong may see a surge in sales of baby oil this fortnight when eight impeccably-chiselled members of the iconic Chippendales crew hit the city and grease up as part of their Most Wanted Tour. Their upcoming performance at the HKCEC is a 75-minute-long spectacle of muscly men in (and out) of uniform. Known for being more fun and playful as opposed to a raunchy affair, the Chippendales take the sleaze out of striptease. Their shows have long been known as the perfect ladies’ night out.
Like many great modern distractions, the Chippendales were founded in Las Vegas in 1979 as a form of women’s entertainment. Since then they’ve kept countless arenas-full of ladies worldwide on their feet screaming with their scandalous routines of song and dance. Some lucky girls might even be invited up on stage to get up close with a one-on-one dance, while the rest of us can appease ourselves with drinks, a meet-and-greet and photo-snapping sessions with the boys after the show. We hear they’re very approachable.
Often touted as the ‘ultimate girls’ night out’ and ‘Disneyland for women’ the Chips mainly host gigs for female-only audiences. But curious Hong Kong men will be pleased to hear that anyone is welcome to attend their upcoming show. So whether you’re a birthday girl, part of a bachelorette party or simply an interested fella, you can feast your eyes on some perfect pecs without guilt.
