Stephen Chow
46 years old, Actor, director, slapstick master
Stephen Chow sits on the throne that as the king of Hong Kong cinematic comedy. The actor-director-writer can muster a laugh with almost anything, from yelling out a craving for a chicken drumstick to more elaborate situations such as cooking face-offs. While his unique brand of nonsensical humour (‘mo lei tau’) defined the face of local comedy in the 1990s, Chow has gone on to direct several mega-blockbusters (Shaolin Soccer, Kung Fu Hustle) in the new century. Next up, our iconic comedian will follow his idol Bruce Lee’s footsteps into the role of Kato in Hollywood’s The Green Hornet, which he’ll also direct.
