The Frontier Closed Area, Northern New Territories

Dr Raynor Shaw and Chief Superintendent Blake Hancock of the Hong Kong Police lead a long-awaited trip within the generally inaccessible, but extremely fascinating, Frontier Closed Area (FCA) of Hong Kong. The FCA was gazetted in June 1951 as a means of stemming the flow of illegal immigrants, and to restricting smuggling and similar activities, but is now a fascinating area between China and Hong Kong, with beautifully preserved villages and thriving wildlife.
