Su Tong’s most recent novel, Boat to Redemption, translated by Howard Goldblatt, won the 2009 Man Asian Literary Prize. Su is a prolific and provocative author whose works have earned him a place at the centre of China's literary scene. He talks about gender issues, specifically, the place of women in his writing, focussing on his female characters. Please note this will be in Putonghua.
